Whether through discretionary mandates or advisory engagements, our focus remains the same: thoughtful asset allocation grounded in macro insight and rigorous risk budgeting.

Our Team
Hakan Kalkan
Hakan has over 30 years of experience as a market professional in global financial markets, spanning senior roles across banking, hedge funds, and international market-making institutions.
After earning a BSc in Electronics Engineering from Middle East Technical University and an MBA from Bilkent University, he began his career at Yapı Kredi Bank in Istanbul in 1992. Over 12 years in the Bank’s Treasury Department, he progressed from trader to senior leadership roles, ultimately serving as Head of Treasury for his final four years.
A pivotal chapter of his career was his transition to the global buy side. He joined Autonomy Capital Research in London, a leading global macro hedge fund, where he served as a Portfolio Manager for seven years. During this period, he managed a portion of the firm’s flagship fund, focusing on global macro and emerging market strategies. His tenure at Autonomy marked a shift from sell-side execution to institutional capital allocation, deepening his expertise in portfolio construction, risk management, and macro-driven investment strategies within a global investor framework.
In 2011, he returned to the sell side, joining Bank of America as a Managing Director. Over the next decade, he served as Co-Head of CEEMEA Local Markets Trading and Head of Turkey Trading, based in London and Istanbul.

Burak İyigün

Burak Iyigun is a seasoned financial market professional with over 25 years of experience across global fixed income, currencies, and macro trading. He began his career in leading Turkish banks before moving into increasingly senior trading roles, ultimately serving as Director and Senior Trader on the Local Currency Trading Desk at Bank of America Merrill Lynch (2010–2019). Throughout his institutional career, he specialized in sovereign bonds, cross-currency swaps, funding structures, and balance sheet liquidity management, while maintaining active dialogue with institutional clients, central banks, and treasury authorities.
Following his tenure in global markets, Burak transitioned into investment management and entrepreneurship. He is currently Managing Partner at Polaris Global Partners, where he oversees a Swiss Actively Managed Certificate (AMC) implementing a risk-budgeted, multi-asset global macro strategy focused on capital preservation and transparent risk allocation. In parallel, he manages discretionary mandates for UHNW clients through private banks under Limited Power of Attorney (LPOA) structures, exercising trading authority with strict operational discipline.
In addition to his investment activities, Burak serves as Managing Partner and CFO of Kahve.com, where he has led strategic fundraising, financial restructuring, and operational scaling, achieving significant revenue growth and margin expansion. He holds an M.Sc. in Financial Engineering from Bosphorus University and a B.S. in Industrial Engineering from Middle East Technical University.
